2025 Lunar New year flyer

Join White Magnolia Acupuncture & Tai Chi and Teance Fine Teas as they usher in the Lunar New Year with an exciting array of activities in West Berkeley. This event promises a day filled with cultural performances, demonstrations, and engaging classes that celebrate the spirit of the New Year.

West Berkeley’s 3rd Annual Lunar New Year Celebration


Performance, Demonstration & Classes

12:00 – 12:20 PM: Opening Celebration
Lion Dance Performance: Experience the vibrant and traditional Lion Dance performed by Kei Lun Martial Arts. Established in 1994, Kei Lun Martial Arts is committed to promoting and preserving the cultural heritage of the lion dance, dragon dance, and martial arts.
Following the Lion Dance:
Tai Chi Demonstration: Enjoy a graceful Tai Chi demonstration by White Magnolia, showcasing the profound art of movement and balance.
Tai Chi Free Introductory Classes: Participate in complimentary Tai Chi classes offered by White Magnolia, open to all ages and skill levels.
Free Stress-Reduction Acupuncture: Relax with a free stress-reduction acupuncture session from John Luna-Sparks LAc. Spaces are limited, so be sure to call the clinic at 510-570-8195 to reserve your spot.

Afternoon Activities

1:00 – 4:00 PM:
Face / Body Painting: Get creative with face and body painting, perfect for all ages.
DIY-Writing Chinese Calligraphy & Paper Cutting: Engage in the art of writing Chinese calligraphy and paper cutting. Create Spring Couplets (春聯 “Chūnlián”), traditional New Year’s decorations that convey happiness and hopeful thoughts for the year ahead.
Complimentary Lunar New Year Red Teas: Savor the taste of Teance’s complimentary Lunar New Year Red teas (Hong Cha), served after the Lion Dance performance.

Local Food, Art, Craft, and Gift Pop-Ups
